Online Blackjack Rules
Blackjack is believed to have French descent, from a game known as Vingt-en-Un. It roughly translates to “twenty-one” in English which captures the essence of the game quite well. If you’re not aware, the objective of BTC Blackjack is to reach as close to 21 as possible!
At the beginning of a round of crypto Blackjack, the dealer deals cards for all players including themselves, twice. So, you should have 2 cards, to begin with. It’s the combined value of the 2 cards that determine the outcome. If you go over 21, however, it’s considered a “bust” and you lose.
Card Values
The card values are pretty standard in Bitcoin Blackjack games. Cards 2 through 10 have their face value. The picture cards, as in the King, Queen, and Jack are considered 10. The Ace can be both 1 and 11, based on what your other card is. The Ace ultimately controls whether you have a “hard hand” or a “soft hand” in a round.
Simply put, if you can use the Ace as both 1 and 11, it’s a soft hand. But if the other card lets you use the Ace as 1 only, it’s a hard hand.
Player Actions
Once the initial 2 cards are dealt, players have a few options to choose from. Let’s look at the player actions in crypto Blackjack games and what they mean.
